The short answer

Pause at decisions, use annual focus deliberately, and open the full spending menu. This walkthrough gets you from childhood to your first adult plan.

01

Start a life you can follow

Open the original at 1in8b.life and choose your language. The game draws a birthplace and family circumstances; the optional question about your real home country is a comparison setting. It does not choose your character’s birthplace. For a first run, use the present-day world so you can learn the controls before comparing historical or projected settings.

Once the life begins, read the identity card: country, family means, education and current location. Our checked character, Masud, started in one of Bangladesh’s poorest 20% of families. That mattered when university and borrowing decisions arrived; high knowledge did not remove the money constraint.

02

Use the first few minutes to learn the controls

Keep Auto mode off while learning. Pause stops the clock; the speed buttons change how quickly years pass; Next decision moves toward the next choice. Those are different controls. At a major decision, read the costs and the outcome wording before clicking. “About even” means there is still a real chance of rejection.

  1. Pause and inspect the four attributes, money and life record.
  2. Choose a yearly focus that fits the current stage: Study, Friends & play, Exercise or another available option.
  3. Resume slowly; pause again after a school, job, family or money event.
  4. Open Spend & invest and expand More and Ways of living. Some useful actions are hidden there.
03

Build an adult plan around the offers you actually get

During school years, compare continuing education with the opportunity to earn. University admission, subject choice and a first job can be separate decisions. In our run, admission came at 18, law at 19 and a lawyer offer at 23. This is an example, not a timetable every life follows.

When working, look at yearly income and the past-year net-worth breakdown together. An impressive salary can coexist with debt, school fees, a wedding or investment losses. Before buying something large, compare the cost with saved money rather than the income headline. Keep some money available for the next decision instead of treating every affordable button as a purchase recommendation.

04

Review the consequences rather than chasing perfect bars

After each year, read the newest life-record entries. Work focus can improve income while hurting health and relationships. Spending on a checkup or dinner may help a bar, but it cannot guarantee a safe or happy life. In our run, a business succeeded financially while repeated overwork and a failed marriage became part of the story.

For a useful first-life goal, try completing your education choice, finding work, understanding your budget and preserving the life in the same browser. You can pursue wealth, family or another objective on later runs without mistaking one fortunate result for a universal strategy.
