The short answer

Make time for people before a crisis. Dinners, gifts and counseling can help the simulated relationship, but none guarantees that a marriage survives.

01

Spend time as well as money

Family & friends focus explicitly improves relationships and happiness. Focus on work advertises the opposite trade-off alongside its income and promotion benefits. If you spend many years working intensively, inspect the relationship bar and individual family descriptions instead of waiting for a divorce card.

In our run, repeated overtime and long business days appeared in the record. At 36 the overall relationship score was 55, the mother was described as distant and the daughter as close. The overall bar is useful, but the family list shows that different bonds can develop differently.

02

Use the relevant action

At 26, Spend & invest offered Bring up marriage for an existing relationship, dinners, treating friends, help with parents’ medical bills and trips with different companions. Available actions depended on the current people and situation. A random marriage timetable cannot replace checking your own menu.

Review Ways of living if you use automatic dinners or trips. These cost money, and reducing wedding or funeral gifts may save money while making ties a little less close. Choose a recurring routine you can sustain rather than enabling every social expense.

03

Prepare for family costs and uncertain outcomes

Marriage, childcare, school and another child were separate decisions in the observed life. At 35, paid couples’ counseling failed and the marriage ended. The game recorded a division of jointly built assets, then asked who would raise the daughter. Choosing to keep the child shaped the later migration option.

Pause at these decisions and read their own terms. Counseling is an attempt, not a guaranteed rescue. The game simplifies family life, and a difficult fictional outcome does not mean the player clicked a morally wrong answer. If your aim is a family-centered run, allocate time and money to that aim throughout the life, not just during emergencies.
